Bluetooth and greenfiled show their true colours at Innovation Into Action

Amongst the attractions at this year's Innovation into Action event will be a showcase for cutting edge Bluetooth Mobile Marketing, or proximity marketing, to show the latest generation of customer interaction and engagement being used extensively by Cardiff media specialists greenfield - who really are turning innovation into action.

Then first Innovation into Action event takes place at the National Cricket Centre, Sophia Gardens on March 11 when over 60 new products, new ideas and new technologies from Wales will gather to show off their big ideas, develop new contacts and promote their business to an audience of scouts and investors hungry for the next big thing.

greenfield mobile is one of the UK's leading edge specialists in the creation and implementation of proximity marketing services using the mobile phone. They have used this direct marketing technology at a number of large scale events, including last summer's National Eisteddfod; BBC Children in Need; and Wales Rally GB. An illuminated display sends out a free message to the mobile phones of passers-by, who can then chose to accept it, and an interactive touch screen allows consumers to send content direct to their phone. The technology is ideal for events and exhibitions such as this, and greenfield are talking to a number of organisations worldwide who looking to adopt it.

greenfield director Jim Carpenter said: "Innovation into Action gives us a great opportunity to show off this leading global, cutting edge technology in action, and it has attracted a great deal of attention whenever we have done this previously."

greenfield has been supported by a Welsh Assembly Government grant and advised by an Innovation and Technology Counsellor.

Phil Allen, Senior Programmes Manager with WAG said: "This high tech media will I'm sure prove attractive to visitors to the show, and represents some of the great ideas and technologies that are now coming out of Wales."

As well as the exhibition, there will also be an innovation brokerage event with pre-arranged one-to-one sessions, and plenty of opportunity for businesses to share ideas, make new contacts and make deals.

The event will also feature a talk by the event host venue Glamorgan CCC with a presentation on the innovation involved in creating a cricket arena in 2008 fit for next year's England v Australia Ashes Test; and another sporting themed presentation on the innovation involved in the new Cardiff stadium, which will be shared by the local superpowers of Cardiff City and Cardiff Blues from 2009.
